HP's Integrity server solutions clocked over USD 500 million in revenue in Asia Pacific and Japan in 2005. The company said over 1000 customers in the region have adopted more than 8000 servers as well as solutions. The list of customers include SK Telecom in Korea, Tai Fook Securities and CargoSmart in Hong Kong, SAI Global in Australia, ChinaPost, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, Sundaram Clayton in India, and Schneider Electric in Singapore.
Over 450 of the 7600-odd HP Integrity server applications are developed by Asia Pacific partners. HP Integrity server revenue in JAPAC grew 91% over 2004, with worldwide Integrity solution sales of USD 1.6 billion in fiscal 2005. HP was also the biggest vendor in the UNIX server segment in the region.
HP also announced the enhancement of its HP Integrity server line and HP-UX 11i operating environment with significant capacity, virtualization, and management upgrades. The enhancements are expected to offer customers greater server capacity as well as faster deployment of enterprise software within an HP Virtual Server Environment (VSE) running on the HP-UX 11i operating system.
HP is a founding sponsor of the Itanium Solutions Alliance (ISA), formed in September 2005 by leading enterprise and technical solution providers. The alliance seeks to work together to extend Itanium-architecture-based solutions to broad deployments within datacenters and technical computing environments. In January 2006, ISA announced an investment of USD 10 billion till 2010 to drive Itanium Solutions to a predominant position within the USD 21 Billion mission-critical computing market segment globally. |
